Digital information security management policy in academic libraries: A systematic review (2010–2022)

Digital information security management (DISM) is considered an important tool to ensure the privacy and protection of data resources in electronic environment. The purpose this research look into applications DISM policies terms practices implementation academic libraries. It also identifies challenges faced by libraries applying these regarding policy. A systematic literature review was conducted achieve objectives study. were collected from well-known different databases, that is, Library Information Science Technology Abstracts (LISTA), (LISA), IEEE Xplore, Emerald Insight, ACM Library, Scopus, Sage journals, Taylor & Francis, ProQuest, Direct, Wiley Online Google Scholar. followed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines choose relevant articles with keyword searching. Some have developed on protection, backup, (IS) systems, development hardware software, training library staff, malware social engineering, privacy. few a mechanism protect secure users’ sensitive hackers, viruses, engineering. Findings indicated both organisations users trust due their strict policies. However, some did not adopt implement organisations, even though they had written Libraries been facing issues policy privacy, IS software upgrades technical support staff.
